Helping businesses grow through motorsport and meaningful community engagement

More Than Motorsport. A Message That Matters.

Thomas Potter’s journey is about far more than racing cars around a circuit. Through Words Do Hurt — Racing Against Bullying, he uses motorsport to bring businesses, communities and young people together around conversations that matter.

Over the past eight years, Thomas has built an exceptional karting career, securing more than 100 race wins and six championships. His racing journey and message have reached millions of people online, while earning recognition from figures and brands including Jenson Button and Aston Martin F1.

But success came with a cost. Competing on a limited budget made Thomas a target for negativity, online abuse and bullying—including messages encouraging him to take his own life. Rather than allowing those experiences to define him, he turned them into a message for others:

Words Do Hurt.

Thomas has spoken openly about his experiences and safeguarding concerns, helping strengthen conversations around safety in motorsport and encouraging young people to speak up. The family has received deeply personal feedback that Words Do Hurt has helped young people at points of serious suicidal distress.

Now aged 15, Thomas competes in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship, Europe’s largest junior car-racing series. His race car carries more than his name: it carries a visible message about bullying, mental health, resilience and the importance of speaking up.

Words Do Hurt is a driver-led platform using racing to start meaningful conversations, bring people together and take the message further.

“Knowing I saved more than one life makes me more determined to continue the campaign.”

  1. “I helped people who were struggling by adding there names to my go kart, now its time to add them to my car.”

Want to get involved?

We looking for more partners to join us for the rest of this season with a view to work together into 2027.

A bare-minimum racing season with no damage or additional testing costs around £60,000, covering dry tyres and core event costs. The race car itself, valued at approximately £35,000, has thankfully been secured through the support of our valued oil partner, Shield Lubricants.

Our aim for 2027 is to give Thomas the opportunity to compete on a much more level playing field. Throughout the 2026 season, he often arrived at race weekends on the back foot, competing against drivers with significantly more testing time and experience in the car. With additional funding, we want to increase Thomas’s test days so he can arrive at each round fully prepared, confident and ready to compete. Just as importantly, we want him to have the reassurance that there is a dedicated repair and damage budget behind him. During 2026, we unfortunately had to miss a championship round because of damage bill was simply too much. Securing this additional support would allow Thomas to focus on what he does best developing as a driver, pushing himself on track and showing what he is truly capable of.

We can offer multiple packages including branding featured on our road going replica car which will be featured at BTCC events plus the Nurburgring road trip. ‘Tpot on tour’ this will be another great opportunity for businesses to get involved supporting a huge anti bullying campaign.

We have multiple packages available.

Our Ambitions for 2027

Our goal is to raise £100,000 for the 2027 season, allowing Thomas to compete competitively in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship.

This funding would provide essential testing, race preparation and a contingency budget for repairs, giving Thomas the opportunity to compete on a more level playing field and demonstrate his true potential.

However, we also have our sights set on an additional exciting opportunity. Should the right support become available, we would love to explore  into the BTCC Junior Championship, which would require approximately £200,000 in additional funding.

Whatever the future holds, our ambition remains the same  to help Thomas achieve his racing dreams while continuing to grow the Words Do Hurt campaign and inspire young people across the UK.
